The exact system I use so I never start a script from a blank page again. Set it up once (about 15 minutes), then it runs on its own every night.
What it does
You drop every messy idea into one Notion page. Every night, Claude reads them, picks the ONE with the most potential, and turns it into a full Reel draft, cover text, script, and caption, in your voice. You wake up to a real draft sitting in your content list, ready to review. You still fine-tune it, but you're never starting from zero, and you never lose an idea again.
The three moving parts
- Crumbs — where you dump every raw idea. One messy line is enough.
- Used — where a crumb goes once it's been turned into a script, so nothing gets done twice.
- The catcher — the nightly Claude run that reads your crumbs and files the draft.
Step 1: Build your Jar
Make a new Notion page. Call it Jar of Thoughts. Add two headers:
- Crumbs
- Used
That's the whole page. No fancy database needed.
Step 2: Start dumping crumbs
Every time an idea hits you, 3am, in the shower, mid-scroll, drop it under Crumbs. One line is enough. A few words is enough. Don't clean it up, that's the point. Example: "AI is making everyone dumber."
Step 3: Connect Claude to your Jar
In Claude, turn on the Notion connector and give it access to your Jar of Thoughts page (and the content list you want drafts to land in). Now Claude can read your crumbs and write drafts back for you.
Step 4: The nightly "catcher" prompt
This is the part that does the work. Paste this into Claude, or save it as the prompt your nightly run uses:
You are my content catcher. Once a night, open my "Jar of Thoughts" page in Notion and read everything under "Crumbs".
1. Pick the ONE crumb with the most potential, strongest hook, clearest verdict, or most personal. Just one.
2. Turn it into a full Reel draft in my voice: a cold-open hook, the script (30 to 45 seconds spoken), and the caption. Cold open, lead with why, end on a reframe, keyword CTA at the bottom. No jargon, no corporate words.
3. File it as a new entry in my content list with Status "To Review" and Format "Reel", laid out as: Cover text, Script, Caption, Notes.
4. Move that crumb from "Crumbs" to "Used" with today's date and where it went, e.g. "[2026-07-08] ai is making everyone dumber. (Reel, To Review)".
Rules: don't invent facts, numbers, or experiences I didn't mention. If the best crumb is too vague to script, draft it anyway but flag your assumptions in Notes so I can fix them.Swap the voice line so it sounds like you, not me.
Step 5: Make it run at 10pm
You can run the prompt yourself whenever you like. Or, to make it hands-off like mine, set it up as a scheduled task in Claude so the catcher runs every night at 10pm. Then you genuinely wake up to a fresh draft, no button pressing.
How to use it day to day
Dump crumbs all day. Read your one new draft with morning coffee. Keep it, bin it, or fine-tune it. One good crumb a night is plenty, that's 30 scripts a month you didn't have to start from scratch.
The magic isn't that Claude writes perfect scripts, it doesn't. It's that you never lose an idea again, and you never stare at a blank page.
